A Discovery Approach
Educational institutions are too complex and varied for off-the-shelf solutions. In my capacity as a senior university executive, I’ve worked with some of the large consulting and research firms, and always felt that my institution’s needs were being filtered through standard templates. I’m convinced that institutions want someone to listen to their specific challenges and cultures, and to be presented with a customized approach.

I’m trained as an anthropologist of communication; I’m proud to say I have the skills and temperament to learn exactly what questions a client is asking and how best to shape our project.

A typical engagement begins with a focused discovery period so that the agreed-upon scope of work addresses the client’s particular circumstances. I employ an integrated approach to research, planning and implementation; I view organizations as holistic systems, and my eye is planted firmly on both the micro-details of a project and its alignment with the bigger picture ... the institution’s brand and long-term sustainability.
